Clinton Valley Constitution

April 2010 offers many opportunities for the CVC Chapter.  For several weeks, Dr. Stamps, a CVC member and professor at Oakland University, has opened his lab to any member of CVC who would like to participate in helping to wash, catalog, photograph, etc. the finds obtained from the Fort Gratiot Site a number of years ago.  That project will continue into April.

Dr. Stamps has also extended an invitation to CVC members to meet in his lab at Oakland University on the 3rd Tuesday of the month, at which time we can conduct a business meeting plus help with projects taking place at the time (catalog, wash, photograph, etc.).

On Thursday, April 8, at Oakland University, Dr. Yosef Garfinkle, Director of the Khirbet Qeiyafa/Elah Valley Project, and professor of Archaeology at Hebrew University, Jerusalem, will discuss the exciting finds from this Iron Age II site.  Oakland students and faculty participated in this project in 2009 and will return in 2010.  CVC members will attend this presentation.
